Save the date…

June 4, 2012
Okay I’m finally ready to host an official crop at my house again, which will focus on “Operation Write Home.”
So for AZ locals, I know people have their social calendars for June pretty well filled in by now, but in case your plans fall through for Saturday, June 16 or Sunday, June 17 (Yes, I know, Father’s Day…), feel free to come on over and make greeting cards that our troops overseas can use to keep in touch with their loved ones at home. (You can come and go even for small portions of either day.)
All you have to bring is your own adhesive and any embellies you like to use (except for glitter). You’re welcome to completely ransack my entire stash of papers and cardstock to use for this purpose–I’ve got a warehouse full of it, and it’s time to get it used for something productive! And I’ve got shelves full of stamps you can use if you like.
(Of course, if you have favorite papers and stamps, bring them along too.)
If you can’t come that weekend, there are other ways you may want to contribute … do you have a stash building up of cute cards you’ve made, but never get around to sending them to anyone? You could donate them to the cause at any time…
Do you like coloring in images with your Copics or other markers, (or other inking techniques) and find you have a considerable stash building up of cute focal images, but don’t have the follow-through to get them on cards to send? You could donate your images and we’ll get them made right up onto meaningful cards for our troops to use…
And lastly, if you have some spare change lying around, you could donate to that too, to help defray the shipping cost of getting these cards to the shippers, and from the shippers to their overseas destinations.
I can take care of the envelopes and official OWH stamps for the back of the cards.
They are in great need of non-holiday cards during the summer months right now. (Specifically, general blank cards for writing personal notes inside; thinking of you, love you, thank you, and birthday, etc.) (Also, “Any Hero” cards or letters from you to any service person, thanking them for their service.)
If you can’t make those dates, but have materials you’d like to contribute in the meantime, I can pick them up, if you let me know.
        Deets again:
Operation Write Home Card-Making Party
Saturday/Sunday, June 16 and/or 17, 2012
Lynn’s House in south Tempe (email for addy/directions if needed)
10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
I’ll figure out food/refreshments later… maybe pot luck or b.y.o? Not sure yet
Bring: your own adhesives and embellishments; any tools such as paper trimmers, and cutting dies you like to use, although I have a Cuttlebug and a Cricut available. Maybe ink pads too, since sharing mine all around might hold up some creativity!
RSVP: email me only if you want to come, at LynnMath@aol.com so I can get an idea of how many places to set…
Thanks for your attention!  ;-)
